The Summer House is set within the Anglesey Abbey National Trust Garden which extends around 100 acres. The property is situated just outside the small village of Lode, 6 miles from the University City of Cambridge. There are local facilities in Lode and nearby Bottisham.
Comprehensive shopping is available in Cambridge and Newmarket, the Home of English Horse Racing, 8 miles to the East. There are first class independent schools in Cambridge and schooling for all age groups within the area. For the commuter the A14 north of Cambridge is just 12 miles away which in turn leads to the A1, M1, M6, M11 and M25. There are regular train services from Cambridge Station into Central London.
Domestic and International air services are available from Stansted and Norwich, both within a 60 miles radius.
The Summer House is a substantial country house which was created from original outbuildings to the Abbey together with a sympathetically designed additions dating from the 1970 and more recently in 1983. The main rooms are well proportioned and the whole property is constructed around a private central courtyard with a heated swimming pool.
The house is approached down a long drive which is separated from the public access to Anglesey Abbey. The Summer House gardens are delightful, bordering the river Lode.
