It is bounded by a stretch of the Fosse Way Roman road to the west and the Bybrook to thesouth-east. The village has several parts to it: Southwood, Northwood, Pinewood and Thickwood. Colerne is just a mile away and has a church, two pubs, post office, doctor’s surgery, a local shop and a florist. Early school life revolves around the excellent Colerne C of E Primary School and a bus service into both Bath and Chippenham operates for secondary schools.
